What's new

Bigger and better than ever
Bigger? For sure. Major announcements? No doubt. Surprises in store? Come on—Dreamforce just wouldn’t be Dreamforce without a little fun.

But this year, we’re planning all kinds of enhancements to make Dreamforce 2010 more personal, relevant, and inspirational than ever before. We listened to your feedback from last year, and here are just a few of the improvements we’re putting in place for you:

Get involved. We like to think that what makes Dreamforce different is “learn by doing.” We’re bringing back the favorites, like dozens of hands-on labs, “Architect Your App” white-boarding in the Campground, and developer challenges in the Force.com Zone. But this year we’ve added wireless to all the track rooms. That means new kinds of interactive sessions, so be sure to BYOL – bring your own laptop! And with our new Chatter Attendee Portal (coming soon), you’ll be available to collaborate with other attendees before, during, and after the conference.

Start the learning earlier. While many of you arrive just in time for the Opening Keynote, more than half of you arrive the day before for the orientations, training classes, or evening Welcome Reception. To help you get the most out of your four days, we’re planning on offering a variety of breakouts, networking birds of a feathers, and other sessions on Monday, December 6. Plan to show up early!

Connect with peers. Alumni tell us that one of the best ways to learn and pickup ideas is through the networking. Dreamforce attendees are not shy—but how do you connect with the right people and groups among 20,000 people? Coming soon: the new Chatter Attendee Portal, a whole new way to collaborate and succeed at Dreamforce. It’s up to you if you want to share your contact information, but with the Chatter Attendee Portal you’ll be able to:

  • Connect with other attendees
  • Join groups based on your interests
  • Create private groups so you can collaborate with your teams
  • Follow the buzz before, during, and after the event
  • Follow sessions, activities, and experts

Relevant recommendations. How do you make the most of your time at Dreamforce? Why can’t conferences work like Match.com? This year, we’re piloting a recommendation engine for attendees. Tell us a little about yourself and what you’re interested in. Then, when the Chatter Attendee Portal goes live, we can recommend sessions, groups, and activities based on your profile.

Explore the Cloud Expo. Attendees love to explore the hundreds of partner solutions in the Expo. This year, we expect more than 250 of the leaders in cloud computing to be there. Plus, you have the Salesforce.com Campground in the center of the Expo. Based on your feedback, we’ve expanded the hours, including opening the Expo early afternoon on Monday, December 6.

Reserve your seats. For the first time ever, we have added session reservations to the Dreamforce tracks. When the agenda builder goes live in October, registrants can login to the Attendee Portal and reserve their seat early.

Repeat popular sessions. By investing in the additional space at Moscone West, we have more flexibility on our tracks and sessions. We’re taking your advice and plan to leave room for some of the most popular sessions to be repeated on Wednesday and Thursday.

Live the Service Cloud. Last Dreamforce, we launched Service Cloud 2 Live@DF: the first-ever call-center managing all the questions attendees had at Dreamforce. It handled 3000+ questions from multiple channels, including Twitter, Facebook, phone, email, portal, and face-to-face. This year, we have more surprises in store. And with 8+ real-time digital displays, it’s both must-see TV and the future of customer service.
